The Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation is accepting applicants for its 2015 Fleming Scholar Program now through Feb 1.
According to OMRF, the eight-week summer internships allow selected students to “enhance their research skills by working alongside world-class scientist.”
The Fleming Scholar Program is a paid internship, which also provides free housing.
Applicants are required to be the age of 16 or older and must have been an Oklahoma resident at the time of their high school graduation. High school seniors, college freshmen, sophomores and juniors are eligible to apply.
Fleming Scholar Program manager Carlisa Curry said in a press release, the program “provides a hands-on research experience at a level seldom available to students at this point in their education.”
The Fleming Scholar Program, named for Sir Alexander Fleming, a Nobel-Prize winning scientist, has provided a summer research experience for more than 550 Oklahoma students since 1956.
