Fairy ring appears near Engineering and Technology

Chief Photographer —

A fairy ring bloomed on campus between the Engineering Technology building and the LRC, along with several other scattered mushrooms on Sept. 16.

Mushrooms, despite being on the uglier end of botanical life, can do very beautiful things, like form Fairy Rings.

According to the Missouri Botanical Garden, Fairy Rings are a common occurrence during rainy weather. They aren’t dangerous to lawns, but get their name from the legends of fairies dancing in such a pattern the night before.
