The RSC Golden Apple Teaching Award is given to selected teachers who have made a difference in a student’s life; nominations are due Friday, Sept. 12.

To receive this award, teachers must be nominated by a current or former student.

Ten teachers are selected annually by a panel of judges that reviews essay nominations submitted by students.

Winners, and the students who wrote the winning essays, will be invited to the Golden Apple banquet on Nov. 17 where the essays will be read aloud.

Former winner Ron W. Parker from Star Spencer High School, said, “It was a honor to not only be nominated but also receive the Golden Apple.”

To nominate a teacher, submit your 300-word essay in the “Fall 2014 Learning Community” on D2L. Include your name, student ID number and the teacher’s name, contact information and school.

All submissions must be typed and double-spaced in 10- or 12-point font, and must be submitted through D2L.
